MPN Poker Tour kicks off 2019 in Tallinn

By Mad Harper

The first MPN Poker Tour festival of 2019 will see the popular tour make a return visit to beautiful Tallinn from 24-27 January. This will be the fourth time that the MPNPT has headed to the Estonian capital and features a €200,000 guarantee for the €550 buy-in Main Event.

MPNPT Tallinn 2019 is taking place at the Olympic Park Casino in the heart of the city. Players will have a choice of starting day: either Day 1a on January 24 or Day 1b on January 25. MPN is already running online satellites at all of its partner poker rooms. The £1,500 packages include entry into the €200,000 Guaranteed Main Event as well as the €110 Side Event.

Don’t miss the chance to visit Tallinn – it’s a fantastic city to visit with beautiful Medieval architecture in the Old Town – and tons of cheap bars, restaurants and club.

Last year the MPN Poker Tour took in a total of four different destinations: Morocco, Bratislava and Sunny Beach in Bulgaria before culminating in the record-breaking Battle of Malta last month. With 3,816 entries – nearly double the expected number – Battle of Malta was a resounding success with hundreds of MPN qualifiers enjoying a gripping week of poker in the buzzing resort of St Julians. The winner was French player Julien Stropoli who won €168,500 after cutting a five-way deal. He bested a tough final table featuring previous MPN Poker Tour finalists Mantas Urbonas, Mateusz Moolhuizen (who has just won the newly-crowned MPNPT UCOP contest) and Andy Hills.

Moolhuizen will certainly be in Tallinn next January as – in addition to this €30,000 prize for finishing eighth in Malta – he also won the MPNPT Last Longer promotion awarding him a €1,500 package for next season’s debut event.

The last MPNPT Tallinn champion was Finnish player Keimo Suominen who beat a 534-strong field in 2017 to seize the coveted MPNPT trophy and a first prize of €50,000.
